Hei ika a Whiro o Te Panekiretanga, kua pau i a Korohere ngā tau ngahuru mā rua neke atu e whakarite wānanga reo ana, huri kau ana i ngā marae o Hauraki, nā, kia mau tonu ai te mita o Hauraki.
Korohere was born in Tokoroa in 1972 and spent his childhood there. After attending Tokoroa High School he continued his studies at Waikato University.
A graduate of Te Panekiritanga o Te Reo, Korohere dedicated over 20 years to facilitating wānanga reo across Hauraki marae, aiming to preserve the Hauraki Māori language dialect. In 2012, he achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first person to complete a PhD thesis in te reo Māori. His thesis, "Te Whare Tahuhu Kōrero o Hauraki” focuses on revitalizing the traditional Māori language of the Hauraki region.
